STATEMENT
Cleone Foods manufacture the Island Delight range of Jamaican style patties which are sold in a number of Retail stores. As requested earlier I confirm the following :-
1. 5 Specie DNA testing has been carried out by GenOn at Hebden Bridge on our current stocks of meat as a matter of urgency. Samples results are shown in the attached file. They confirm the absence of both Horsemeat and Pork ( we are a Halal producer).
2. We buy all our Diced and Minced meat from one supplier- AF Blakemore – and we receive Halal Certificates from their primal meat suppliers.
3. All meat is sourced via AF Blakemore . Their current sources are as follows:
BEEF – Woolley Brothers in Sheffield and MutchMeats in Oxfordshire
LAMB – Silver Fern Farms , New Zealand
CHICKEN – S.C. Bona Avis SRI , Romania.
4. Due to the current multiplicity of Halal Accreditation bodies we do not have, as a site, Halal Accreditation. We are however BRC Grade A accredited and all meats used are certified Halal.
