Cleone Foods Ltd, and their Managing Director Wade Lyn, achieved a double triumph at the recent Business in the Community awards. It is a prestigious event held at the Birmingham Town Hall on Wednesday evening (9th June).
Island Delight Awarded Small Company Of The Year Award
The makers of the nationally recognised “Island Delight” brand, Jamaican patties were first awarded a reaccreditation for their 2009 Small Company of the Year award. It was chosen as a national example of excellence in corporate responsibility for small businesses.
Received Personal Message From Royalty
Next, to their great surprise, Managing Director Wade Lyn was announced as the West Midlands region’s Special Ambassador in a personal message from HRH Prince Charles. He is the first small business owner to be selected for this award.
Wade said:
“I am shocked but also greatly honoured to have been given this award. I will be giving my utmost in the next twelve months to make sure I can live up to the privilege. And responsibility I have been given today, when I am representing the Prince across the West Midlands”
