Wade Lyn on local and national radio
Wade Lyn, our founder and the heart of Island Delight, has been on local and national radio in the past few weeks.
Letting the world know just how fantastic Jamaican street food can be. Radio presenters both locally at BBC West Midlands and nationally at BBC 1Xtra.
In the last week of August, Wade told our story on several radio shows and gave the country a chance to hear just how fantastic Jamaican street food can be and that, via our website, you can locate Island Delight patties up and down the country.
Richie Anderson on BBC Radio West Midlands
The first of the shows was with Richie Anderson on BBC Radio West Midlands on 26th August. The show gave Wade a chance to truly share his passion for street food and how there is great demand amongst the British public for more opportunities to try and enjoy different cuisines. The summer allowed for a diverse range of new cuisines as well as those which are already popular to become more well-known and there British street food and pop-up scene is much more than just burgers and hot dogs.
Nick Bright Show at BBC 1Xtra
Next up, was the national Nick Bright Show at BBC 1Xtra, which was all about Carnival Season and the perfect place to mention our delicious Caribbean patties. Nick Bright even got the chance to sample a pattie, although his disposition towards spicy food meant he went for our more fragrant and spice-packed veggie pattie which he enjoyed and a listener also messaged in to let us know that she is really appreciate of the fact that all our veggie patties are 100% vegan. Wade also mentioned our sponsored float at the Notting Hill Carnival which has ensured we can be seen and heard at the festival, even if we can’t attend in person.
African and Caribbean Show at BBC 1Xtra
Wade also popped back on the radio, back to BBC Radio West Midlands on 30th August for a chat with Trish Adudu on the Sunday night African and Caribbean Show. Wade took the chance to once again champion our cause and show exactly how fantastic our business is for the economy of the local region and how productive we are – with our factory producing up to 240,000 patties every single week. It was another chance to raise awareness and let people know they can enjoy our products from a range of locations, including many leading supermarkets such as Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco, with all locations accessible via our store locator.
It’s always great to be able to share our brand and great products with a wider audience and our founder Wade Lyn is always working to promote and show exactly how fantastic Jamaican street food, and of course our patties in particular, can be.
